FAQ
I want everything to be as clear as possible for you so you can begin therapy with a sense of certainty and safety. If you do not find your question here, please do not hesitate to contact me — I will be happy to provide any additional information.
What can I offer you?
For adolescents and adults I provide psychotherapy based on the humanistically oriented Person-Centred Approach (Carl R. Rogers, PCA). For work with children I draw on Non-directive Play Therapy. My services do not replace psychological, psychiatric or other medical care.
First contact – how do I book a session?
Contact me by phone or email. At our first contact we will arrange a date, discuss the terms of our work together and any other necessary information. I offer in-person consultations in Ostrava; for online sessions I use Skype, WhatsApp or Google Meet.
What does the first session look like?
The first session provides a safe space for an open conversation about your expectations and the topics you wish to explore or change. I will share a few brief details about how psychotherapy works.
Session length
The standard session length is 50 minutes. For play therapy, any consultation with parents is included within this time. By prior agreement, the length of sessions can be adjusted.
Duration of the work together
We usually start with a frequency of once a week, which we can gradually reduce to once every two weeks. For children, a minimum of 10 sessions is typical.
Confidentiality and discretion
I adhere to the code of ethics of the Czech Association for Psychotherapy (ČAP). My primary obligation is to respect the confidentiality of information and strictly observe the rule of professional secrecy.
Can therapy also take place online?
Yes, if you are from far away or prefer an online space, we can meet via Google Meet, Skype or WhatsApp. The exception is play therapy, which requires in-person contact.
Payment for sessions
Payment for sessions can be made in cash at the end of the meeting or by bank transfer to account 108339970/2250. I am not a VAT payer.
How does a health insurance contribution work?
You pay the full amount to me and your health insurer then reimburses the contribution against the receipt I issue. For current information on contribution options, please check your insurer's website.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. For cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice before the session begins, I will charge the full fee.
Health Insurance Contribution
Clients of VZP, RBP, OZP, ČPZP and ZPMV health insurance can claim a contribution towards therapy.
